Hello to everyone that’s been checking and waiting for an update. It’s taken a long time to get across country and to get all set up but it’s official. Internet is active now, I’m working on catching up on all my emails that I’ve missed for the past couple weeks and looking forward to traveling back to Maryland in a week. I have a couple weddings to post from before my trip out West so keep your eyes open for that in the next few days. Otherwise, the weather’s beautiful, sunny and near 80 today! Keep checking in and I’ll keep updating!Evan

Sorry it’s been a while since I last posted. I’m a bit behind, but catching up. I wanted to quickly tell you how amazing WPPI was this year in Las Vegas. Even larger than last year, there were over 11,000 wedding and portrait photographers from around the world. It was a really incredible week full of inspiration, knowledge, socializing with other amazing photographers, as well as gambling … and loosing … at the roulette tables. It’s always a great time getting to spend the week with your peers and getting ramped up for the season. I just finished shooting my first wedding of the season, so I’ll be posting that slideshow soon. I also have the new site almost complete, so the next time you check back on the blog we should have a whole new look. Finally, the sister site, will be coming out before long. Some of you have already ventured the landing page, but I’ll be making another post on here with a sneak peak at what that site will look like.

Gillisa and Greg were married at the Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast in Virginia. Days before their wedding it was raining and as much as I was looking forward to, and I knew they were looking forward to having their wedding outside amidst the beautiful fall colors in the mountains of Virginia I resigned myself to the fact that the wedding was going to have to be inside. As I drove down into Virginia from Maryland it went from rain to drizzle to grey. Although I was certain the ground was too soaked to have the ceremony outside I thought we might at least get away with some family portraits and portraits of Gillisa and Greg outside. Long story short, it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day that allowed Gillisa and Greg to have the ceremony and the day that they had planned and dreamed about for well over a year!
Scottish heritage was the theme of the day, and Gillisa and Greg included everything from bagpipes, to family tartans and crests throughout the day.
I know that Gillisa and Greg would have been just as happy to get married inside as outside, but the sound of the bagpipes drifting across the hills, and the beautiful fall color made it such a special and unique day I don’t think they could have asked for a better day. Thank you guys for including me in your wedding plans I had an amazing time!
