Wow! Another great day for a wedding! The weather’s been teasing me (and my couples) for the past couple weeks with threats of rain, but this weekend the weather was absolutely stellar! Melanie and Jay were married at the Elkridge Furnace Inn which is one of my all-time favorite places to shoot a wedding. I don’t know what it is about that place, but I have a blast every time I’m there; the light is always amazing, oh … and then there’s the food - yum!
Melanie and Jay were really a fun couple and I could tell from the beginning of the day that they were both just excited to be getting married, that their day was finally here. You could sense that the ceremony couldn’t happen soon enough for them both. After the ceremony Jay’s dad offered a champagne toast in the garden which lead to an impromptu receiving line with lots of emotion. To make sure their day was complete and perfect Melanie’s friends made sure her dreams came true by providing a picnic table for her and Jay during the reception! (Melanie had a dream the night before the wedding that instead of nice tables and linens all her guests were seated at picnic tables LOL!)
Carl from ClassicDJs spun during the reception and did a great job, which couldn’t have been easy since Jay’s a DJ as well as several guests. He even threw on one of Jay’s songs, which was awesome, and Jay took center stage on the dance floor while his music got everyone off their feet.
Oh! And not to be forgotten were the cupcakes, sure, everyone had amazing cupcakes, but Melanie and Jay had the special treat of sharing Easy Bake cupcakes specially made by Jay’s neice the night before their wedding.
All in all a truly amazing, and fun wedding - Melanie and Jay - thank you so much for asking me to document your day and being such a great couple! To check out a few images from the day, click on the slideshow below!
