Portrait Time!

Hey everyone I’ve been busy editing weddings and portraits, and realized I haven’t shared some of my latest work, so here goes.

Kris and Jonathan

Kris, Jonathan and I met in Ellicott City to do their engagement portraits. It was a beautiful day, and they did great at working it for the camera even with all the people busy shopping antiques on the streets of downtown. You can see the attitude they were working on the second photo! Great job guys!

Erin and Greg
After several attempts to shoot portraits at Quiet Waters Park (including trying one day when the park was closed!) Erin and Greg took their morning off of work to come and shoot some engagement portraits with me. They were a great couple that seemed to really have fun with the portrait session. I’m glad we finally got together! Thanks for a great shoot - I can’t wait for your wedding!

Traci and Mike
Traci and Mike are having their wedding in their hometown of Minneapolis, but wanted to have their engagement session shot in their new home city of Baltimore. We had a great time photographing around Locust Point and Federal Hill Park, and eventually ended up back at their home photographing portraits on their rooftop deck with their new Pug Sophie.

Post Secret

I don’t usually post about non-photography work, and I hope I’m not getting in late on this, but I just stumbled across the blog Post Secret and had to share it. I get so inspired when I come across things like this that show what an amazing thing a simple idea can be and can turn into. Frank Warren, the creator of Post Secret sums it up best when he says ‘I have been astonished by the frailty and heroism I see in the secrets of ordinary people … living our everyday lives’. I connect with so many of the postcards and thoughts, whether directly or by being given a better understanding of what someone I know might be feeling.I’m only bummed that I just missed the book signing at Johns Hopkins this week! Guess, I’m going to Virginia on Sunday!Sharing can be such a cathartic experience - here’s hoping this may move you, touch you, inspire you.

Amanda and Nate

Sunday Jennifer and I had the opportunity to shoot Amanda and Nate’s wedding at the historic Ceresville Mansion in Frederick Maryland. Both Amanda and Nate got ready at the mansion and while I was photographing Amanda getting ready, Jennifer was with the guys. Their ceremony was outside in beautiful weather and at the perfect time of day - the light was amazing! Afterwards, the cocktail hour was held outside then inside for dinner and dancing. Amanda and Nate had wanted to have all the dancing outside, but ultimately decided it was too cold for that, however, they did move outside for celebratory cigars, and their final dance. At the end of the night, all the guests lined the front walk and gave Amanda and Nate a sparkler send off.

It was a really great day, and Jennifer and I once again had a great time working together. Thanks to Amanda and Nate for including us in their wedding day plans! To see a few images from the wedding click on the slideshow below.
