Maybe you’re getting sick of hearing it, but I love all my couples, and love to see each of my couples’ personalities in their wedding details, the ceremony and the reception. Brandy and Robb’s wedding was chock full of detail and personality goodness, so I had an absolute blast documenting their wedding. They both got ready at the Hampton Inn and Suites in downtown Baltimore and Robb had Ella who was doing the girls’ hair come over and give him a trim before the wedding. I would say more, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy! What a great idea though; guys, come on - it’s your wedding day too! why not look your best, if it means having a haircut, and pampering yourself a bit - why not - when else are you going to have the excuse!?? Plus, great pictures for me … uh - I mean you!
Their ceremony and reception were at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Because of the time, Brandy and Robb decided to see each other before the ceremony to do formals in the sculpture garden. It was a good idea just because of the lack of light after the ceremony, and we’re really lucky we did it because it was pitch black afterwards. It turned out to be a wonderful moment for both of them and I’m really glad they decided to do it before the ceremony - bad light or not.
The reception was awesome! They had a cocktail style reception without a formal seated dinner where guests were free to mingle all night long. Their cake was a traditional French Croquembouche, a four person a cappella group of friends perform for the ceremony and first hour of the reception, Brandy and Robb’s friend wrote and performed a beautiful song for them during the reception, they made shots for thirty some odd of their guests, and … and … - what a fun reception!
I had a terribly difficult time selecting music for Brandy and Robb’s wedding because they had so much great and unique songs at their wedding. I ended up choosing the song Brandy walked down the aisle to and their first dance song, and mixed them together.

YEAH!!!! I haven’t had the opportunity to do baby portraits in quite a while. One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is the connections that I make with my couples and their families. I photographed Laura and Michael’s wedding over two years ago, and Laura’s sister, Anna and Joe’s wedding a year before that, so I was thrilled when Laura contacted me to photograph their new baby girl. Laura contacted me earlier in the year to talk about it, and decided to wait until Abby was able to sit up on her own and was more reliable with her reactions; smiling, laughing, etc. We did the studio white backdrop shots, but then did some more fun ones in the nursery with Abby surrounded by her stuffed animals and toys, as well as with her mom and dad.
Take a look at just a few of the photos from Abby’s portrait session.

What a beautiful and elegant wedding! Leah and Peter were married at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Glyndon, Maryland.
The church was built in 1800 and created some significant challenges for both me as well as the choir! The church is a beautiful but small church, and Leah had friends sing for the processional, during the ceremony as well as the recessional. Now … the choir loft is just that - a loft. All the singers as well as the organist had to climb a ladder and crawl through a trapdoor to get to the loft. Once there their voices absolutely filled the church, it was amazing and added another level to Leah and Peter’s wedding. I only wish I could photograph song, it was amazing.
After the ceremony all the guests filed into the courtyard between the church and the parish hall where they had a cocktail hour. Leah and Peter and I went to the front of the church, into the cornfield next to the church and along the stone wall surrounding the church grounds to do portraits. They were great sports and the photos show how much fun they had with it.
The reception was held in the parish hall with a live band. The hall is surrounded by a walkway which provided the band with an elevated platform, as well as some interesting angles for me to capture the evening.
I really had a great time shooting this wedding and want to thank Leah and Peter for being such a great couple to shoot. Click on the slideshow below to see some of the images from the day!
